東方涂欽，藝術(shù)家、詩人。1967年出生于山東臨沂，1990年畢業(yè)于山東大學(xué)。任全國青聯(lián)委員，中央國家機關(guān)青聯(lián)常委，中國報紙副刊研究會副會長等職。在藝壇上東方涂欽是一個很獨特的現(xiàn)象，他是一位詩意的游走者，在文化、藝術(shù)等幾個界限不同的領(lǐng)域輕逸出入，均有著可圈可點的成就。但他自稱其作品“無藝無術(shù)”，是一位“三事兩業(yè)”的票友、一位現(xiàn)代涂鴉者，日常關(guān)于藝術(shù)的基本動作是“面向藝術(shù)，背向藝壇”。

    他雖自小習(xí)書，但從上世紀(jì)九十年代中期才開始進行現(xiàn)代水墨的創(chuàng)作，后逐漸轉(zhuǎn)入油畫和架上綜合材料與技法的創(chuàng)作探索，藝術(shù)風(fēng)格獨樹一幟，許多作品被國內(nèi)外館藏，并廣泛為國內(nèi)外名流政要等藝術(shù)愛好者收藏，同時有大量復(fù)制品進入平民家庭。他是公共空間展覽的積極推動者，2002年7月曾舉辦北京首屆電梯藝術(shù)展，在北京幾百家中高檔公寓、寫字樓的3000多個電梯候梯間以及地鐵等地方展覽作品，歷時三年多時間，引起社會廣泛關(guān)注，由此引導(dǎo)了當(dāng)下展覽方式的革命，并使現(xiàn)代藝術(shù)最廣泛地走向了普通人群。同時在法國、韓國、日本等國內(nèi)外許多地方舉辦展覽。代表作品有《我非我》系列、《我的中國紅》系列、《我的中國藍(lán)》系列、《中國涂鴉志》系列、《唐人書寫》系列等。

    因其獨特的創(chuàng)作風(fēng)格和卓然有成的文化影響力，他曾榮獲多類文化藝術(shù)獎項，2004年曾被中華英才、聯(lián)合國教科文組織等十幾家組織機構(gòu)聯(lián)合推舉為年度“十大藝術(shù)英才”，2008年曾被國家新聞出版署評為中國新聞出版界領(lǐng)軍人物，2009年成為享受國務(wù)院特殊津貼專家等；他的現(xiàn)代詩歌作品《祈求幸?！愤€被選入大學(xué)語文課本；文化、藝術(shù)、傳媒等不同的領(lǐng)域?qū)λ兄e極評價。

   近年來東方涂欽出版的主要詩書畫藝術(shù)著作有《在垃圾中被春光喚醒的風(fēng)信子》、《非常男女、非常水墨》、《唐人書寫與小紙人的碎片》、《心象》等。

    Tuqin Dongfang Artist, Poet

    Tuqin was Born in 1967 in Linyi, Shandong China and graduated from Shandong University in 1990. Tuqin holds distinguished positions in China such as member of All-China Youth Federation, member of standing committee of Youth Federation of Central Government Units, Vice Chairman of Supplement Edition Research Association of China Newspaper.

    As such a unique phenomenon, Tuquin is a ‘poetic wanderer’, elegantly wandering in the fields of culture, art and a few other different spheres and generating remarkable achievements. Tuqin himself however named his work of “no art nature” and himself “taking nothing really seriously” but a modern graffiti doer with a basic daily act of “facing art but turning his back to the art circle.”

    Though he started painting and Chinese calligraphy when he was a child, not until mid-nineties of last century did he begin his work of modern ink painting. Later Tuqin gradually moved to canvas ,frame materials and techniques with a unique art style. Many of his works are collected by domestic and international art galleries and widely by domestic and international celebrities while a number of copies enter into the civilian households.

    Tuqin is an active promoter of public space exhibitions. He initiated the first Beijing Elevator Art Exhibition in July 2002 which lasted for 3 years with his works exhibited in more than 3000 elevators in a few hundred high grade apartments in Beijing. The exhibition aroused considerable attention and thus led a revolution in today’s exhibition mode introducing modern art to the widespread general public.

    Tuqin held solo exhibitions in a dozen countries including France, South Korea and Japan. His representative works are I am not Myself series, My Chinese Red seires, My Chinese Blue series, China Graffiti Stories series, Tangren Writing series etc.

    Because of his unique creative style and outstanding achievements, he has received a wide range of cultural and artistic awards such as in

    In 2004 Tuqin was awarded Ten Artists of Excellence by ChinaHR, UNESCO and a dozen organizations;
In 2008 Tuqin was named Leading Figure of China News and Publications by State Press and Publications Administration
 

    In 2009 Tuqin became entitled to special allowances of State Council, which was dedicated to accomplished experts in special fields.

    His modern poetry work Praying for Happiness was selected into China’s university textbook. Recognition was won amongst culture, art, media and other areas.

    In recent years, Tuqin published his following major works of poem, writing and painting as follows: Hyacinth Awakened in the Garbage; Very Men and Women Very Ink Painting; Tangren Writing and Fragments of Little Paper Person，Mind Like and so on.
