我非常榮幸和張大力一起在Temple東景緣畫廊開始他的“臉”系列作品展覽。對我來說，他代表了中國，尤其是北京的某個時代，甚至是那個時代的化身。

I would like to start Temple Gallery’s Visage series (Face in French) with Zhang Dali.For me he represents and even incarnates a certain era of China and more specifically of Beijing. 

在上世紀 90 年代中期以及隨后的 10 到 15 年間，中國一直在快速發(fā)展。我在摩根大通擔任銀行家時，不僅在工作中目睹了這一切，而且在我位于北京胡同的家周圍也看到了這一切。城市面貌正在迅速改變，并大量依靠來自全國各地的農(nóng)民工（民工）。

In the mid 90s and for the next 10 to 15 years, China was expanding rapidly. I could witness it at work while a banker at JPMorgan Chase but also around my house hidden in the Hutong of Beijing. The city landscape was transforming fast and relying a lot on migrant works (mingong) from all over the Country. 

張大力在那些年里創(chuàng)作了各種精美的肖像畫，這是對中國人民堅韌不拔的精神的一種敬意，更具體地說，是對這些為國家現(xiàn)代化做出貢獻的農(nóng)民工的敬意。

Zhang Dali during those years created beautiful portraits, a sort of homage to the resilience of the Chinese people and more specifically to these migrant workers modernizing the Country. 

我們試圖在畫廊的有限空間里展示他的各種藝術(shù)作品，包括攝影、藍曬、繪畫、大理石雕塑和陶瓷，來展現(xiàn)藝術(shù)家的人文情懷，以及他掌握多種不同工藝的才能。

We tried to present in our small gallery art pieces ranging from tags, photography, cyanotypes, painting, marble sculpture and ceramic demonstrating the artist humanity but also many talents in mastering so many different crafts.

張大力的作品記錄了當代中國文化和歷史的一些縮影。他的作品也被世界各地的許多博物館收藏。

Zhang Dali’s works chronicle some snapshots of contemporary Chinese culture and history. His works are in many Museum collections around the world.

張大力的新系列作品將于2023年11月1日至2024年2月29日同步在清華展出。

Zhang Dali’s new series will be visible soon at Qinghua  from 1st of November 2023 to 29th of February  2024.

張大力簡介

張大力， 1963年生于哈爾濱市，1983年考入中央工藝美術(shù)學院（現(xiàn)清華大學美術(shù)學院）。1987畢業(yè)后成為第一代自由職業(yè)藝術(shù)家。1987年第一次在中山公園舉辦畫展。張大力的創(chuàng)作方向始終關(guān)注中國的社會現(xiàn)實，并從現(xiàn)實生活中汲取創(chuàng)作靈感及藝術(shù)表現(xiàn)的風格。從80年代的試驗水墨到1992年實施的涂鴉《拆與對話》，完成了藝術(shù)家自己從表象到深層的超越。1999年起開始使用影像、繪畫、雕塑、裝置、文獻等綜合手段進行創(chuàng)作，從米蘭-昆德拉的《笑忘錄》第一章第一節(jié)得到靈感創(chuàng)作《第二歷史》，對中國歷史圖片進行詳細的調(diào)查和疏理，形成檔案文本。2009年開始研究古法藍曬，創(chuàng)作《世界的影子》系列。張大力曾參加過很多重要展覽，也多次舉辦過大型個展。
